Introducing Soho Editors and Flawless AI's fully funded training for Post-Production and VFX Professionals seeking to incorporate AI into their future workflows.

This Training Programme is to support 100 Post and 100 VFX Freelance Professionals looking to understand the legal and morale use of AI. If you are a suitable candidate, you will receive:

  • 1-Day Live Online Training and Demonstration in Current Popular AI Engines
  • Course Recording and Handouts to lead you through the legal side of current AI practicies.
  • Flawless AI License + 3 Draft Tokens and 1 Standard Token.
  • Training Material for you to keep.
Access Funding

This funding will also assist with childcare costs for the duration of the course to ensure each awardee receives the best training possible. Please note, assistance funding is limited, and will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Who is it for?

The aim of this training programme is to support 100 Post and 100 VFX Freelance Professionals across the nation. Therefore, you must be in one of the below positions::

  • Currently working within the UK HETV Industry at an Early Career Stage
  • Currently working within the UK HETV Industry at an Experienced Career Stage
  • Currently working within the UK HETV Industry at an Expert Career Stage
  • Currently working within the Broadcast Sector at a minimum of an Early Career Stage and actively looking to move in to HETV.

And, you must:

  • Have at least one Broadcast Credit.
  • Be currently residing within the UK
  • Have the right to Work within the UK
  • Have an Established Connection to the UK Industry
  • Be of 18+ Years of Age

What it Covers

In this 1-day Live Online Course, we will explore the rapidly evolving landscape of AI in HETV post-production and VFX through popular Engines. Below is the course outline:

Module 1 – Foundations of AI
  • What AI is and what machine learning is
  • Core AI terminology (ML, NLP, diffusion models, generative adversarial networks, etc.)
  • AI vs traditional software: understanding the differences
  • Contemporary AI landscape: text, image, audio, video, VFX
  • Tools & Demonstrations:
    • ChatGPT, Grok, Claude.ai – conversational AI
    • Adobe Firefly, RunwayML – creative AI
    • Intro to Flawless AI – emerging tools in video localisation and editing

Module 2 – Creative Applications of AI

  • Broad review of AI tools across media production
  • Practical tips & tricks for integrating AI into workflows
  • AI for visual effects and content creation
  • Case studies: newsroom automation, advertising, VFX pipelines
  • Tools & Demonstrations:
    • MidJourney, Leonardo.AI – image generation
    • Runway Gen-2 – AI video generation
    • Udio, Suno – AI audio tools
    • Synthesia, HeyGen – AI video avatars

Module 3 – Legal, Ethical & Broadcaster Policies

  • Legal responsibilities when using AI-generated content
  • Copyright & intellectual property issues in AI output
  • Broadcasters’ policies and compliance requirements (BBC, Netflix, ITV, Ofcom)
  • Disclosures: when and how to acknowledge AI use
  • Protecting yourself and your client: contracts, IP rights, liability
  • Transparency, accountability & avoiding reputational risks
  • Tools & Resources:
    • UK & EU AI regulations overview
    • Broadcaster policy documents & ethical guidelines

Module 4 – Hands-On Practice & Future Outlook

  • Hands-on practical exercises with selected AI tools
    • Generate scripts with ChatGPT
    • Create visuals with MidJourney
    • Edit clips with RunwayML
    • Explore Flawless AI as part of localisation workflows
  • Group project: design a short piece of content using AI responsibly
  • The future of AI in broadcasting: opportunities & challenges
  • Wrap-up: key takeaways, recommended resources, open Q&A

How to Apply

We have 200 places available (100 Post & 100 VFX Professionals) on this programme, across 12 Live Online Sessions. Therefore, to ensure you are eligible for the training, we have introduced the following application process:

  1. Create a ScreenSkills profile and complete a Candidate Application Form.
    (Closing Date of Applications is the 14 January 2026 or when all placements have been filled).
  2. If you meet the above criteria, you will be asked to complete a background questionnaire with your latest credit.

Places will be offered on a first come, first served basis, and we will reply to all applications of their outcome in due course.
