Sariel is a creative editor commended for his willingness to make a strong narrative contribution to crafting an edit. Sensitive to the tone and themes of the footage he is able to adapt easily to the requisites of a project and cut in a way that compliments the story being told. Sariel particularly enjoy working with huge amounts of footage to refine emotive and passionate stories, but equally he has always enjoyed finding a way around working with little to do a lot. Sariel is particularly fond of the observational approach to documentary, and has a strong eye for finding the kernel of a scene and a good feeling for its rhythm. He is just as happy to be given a brief and work to that he is working side by side with a director or edit producer. The last few projects he has worked on have been a mix of presenter led, character led, archival, observational and current affairs and he has enjoyed adapting to each and where necessary borrowing the skills learned from the different styles to make compelling and in some cases award nominated stories. The series he recently edited Kingpin Cribs was nominated for a Bafta and won a Broadcast digital award and the 60 minute special ‘Untold: The Secret World of Incels’ was also nominated for a Broadcast award.
