Anthony W.
Anthony W. Animator, Editor (Offline / Online), Compositor, Director.
Anthony loves telling stories. During his career he has edited programmes and films within multiple established mediums; documentary, narrative drama, television commercials, music videos, educational films, news & magazine TV shows etc.
His talents and knowledge as an editor and film maker have grown stronger in the course of his career, but it is his personality and communication skills that give him such confidence. He pursues suitably stylised and efficient storytelling, whatever the idiom. He is also experienced and confident in leading post-production teams through large and daunting schedules and has extensive knowledge of film / television production processes and technical legalities.
(2023) An engineering series about green solutions to the climate crisis that humanity faces. Each film follows several visionary people on their own intriguing journey as they try to change the world for the better. 2x50 minute Bigger Bang (Premiere Pro)
(2023) A series of six short-form films in a similar vein to the main Connections series. The idea was to evolve the mode of story-telling that we had developed in the famous TV series, into something even tighter, more culturally relevant and ideally more suited to contemporary audiences. For these short films we used the wonderful American science communicator Alie Ward as our presenter. 6 x 12 minute Bigger Bang and Curiosity Stream (Premiere Pro)
(2022 - 2023)
The original series of Connections first aired in 1978 and it remains one of the most influential science and history programmes in television history. Bigger Bang poured a huge mount of passion and hard work into this new series, which will no doubt be James Burke’s swan song and hopefully one of his finest achievements.
6 x 47 minute Bigger Bang and Curiosity Stream (Avid and Premiere Pro)
(2021- 2022) 3 episodes After the successful of Secrets of the Solar System, Curiosity Stream wanted to take the format further, much further. This was an incredibly ambitious space science series that explored some of the biggest ideas in cosmology and human space flight. Each film involved enormous amounts of research and a driven team of film makers. 8 x 50 minute Bigger Bang / Curiosity Stream (Premiere Pro)
(2020 - 2021)
An as yet unreleased film about the hypercar called the Aston Martin Valkyrie. The film shows what is involved with making arguably the most sophisticated internal combustion engined car ever made. A film that reveals a frank and emotionally charged journey, fraught with failure and heartache. Due to the change in management at Aston Martin, it looks likely that this film will never be publicly released, at least in the short term. Bigger Bang (Premiere Pro)
(2020) - 2 episodes
A exciting and entertaining series about mysterious events and historical anomalies. Each episode takes three separate stories and crafts them into a fast-paced factual story with narration and talking-head contributors. Therefore the 44 minute episodes are more like three 12 to 14 minute short films. Bigger Bang / Discovery Channel (Avid)
(2019) - 3 episodes
The ultimate guide to the Solar System, told by the dedicated people who sent spacecraft to explore the sun, the planets and much more. (2018) 4 episodes
The revolutions that made the modern world, often happened in extremely peculiar ways… The tendrils of these eureka moments lead to further breakthroughs that weave through human history. With insightful contributions from an array of historians, scientists and engineers, this wonderful series charts the origins of six things, without which, the world would be completely different. 6 x 44 minute (US) / 6 x 58 minute (UK) Bigger Bang / PBS and BBC (Avid)
A detailed biographical film about a man who could arguably be the most reviled human in history. Heinrich Himmler believed in an aryan master race. He also believed in astrology, reincarnation and many other bizarre, sometimes darkly humorous elements of the occult. However, he also masterminded the murder of millions of people. Turning murder into a completely industrialised process.
This is an hour long documentary film about Hermann Göring – a truly odd and fascinating character. Göring was a complex figure in Nazi Germany. On one hand he was a ridiculous, comedic, over-weight ex-fighter pilot with aristocratic aspirations, on the other, he was perhaps the greatest criminal of the 20th Century. Stealing his way through Europe and authorising the holocaust in the process.
Throughout its glittering history, NASA has been at the cutting edge of Mankind’s quest for knowledge. During that time, many inexplicable events have occurred; strange objects have appeared, completely unexpected results have revealed themselves, traumatic and sometimes fatal events have unfolded. This series has explored these incredible stories with contributions from astronauts, scientists, engineers and all manner of experts and provocateurs. Told with a fast-paced style and wit, each episode is constructed from six subfilms, ranging in duration from 6 to 11 minutes. Wag TV / The Science Channel (US) (Avid)
