Permanent (Full-Time) – Advertising & Branded Content – London - Salary Commensurate with Experience

Minimum: 5 - 8 years experience across a range of Post Software with at least 4 years Flame VFX.

The Role:

Our client is looking to expand their VFX department with the addition of a senior flame artist. They are seeking a seasoned Flame operator with 5 - 8 years experience across a range of post software and workflows encompassing a variety of projects, including commercials.

This role will focus on crafting and running the client's 2D projects alongside the Head of Post, ensuring that expectations are managed and delivered, while motivating and developing the team.

As a senior artist, you will be responsible for running your own projects, as well as working as part of a team on larger projects, where required.

You will be personable and comfortable with clients, having the ability to communicate effectively and run client-attended sessions. Building long lasting and trusted relationships with both clients and your team members, you will help to maintain the studio’s technical infrastructure.

In collaboration with the whole team you will solve creative problems using simple, efficient techniques and react enthusiastically to client notes.

You will have a desire to further develop your knowledge and skills through training and research, together with a willingness to share that knowledge with junior team members.

The successful candidate will also have the ability to react to changes efficiently and meet delivery deadlines.

Our client is a one-stop post production company specialising in offline editing, colour grading, motion retouch and finish.

They are a team of award-winning creatives and producers whose work shows amazing diversity which ranges from advertising campaigns for huge brands, including some of fashion’s biggest names, to an array of music videos and award winning shorts. They will see a project from rushes through to delivery, their online editors meeting their client's every need.

Responsibilities:

• Work with producers on pre-production planning and pre-shoot consultation
• Quote for new projects
• Conform edits including manipulating XMLs / EDLs
• Work with offline edits, eye-matching material
• Create and maintain VFX shot lists in collaboration with producers
• Clocking and laybacks
• Understand, interpret and develop briefs and their scope, in coordination with producers and clients
• Assist with budgeting and schedule estimations
• Liaise with bookings to ensure the space is managed efficiently on the Flames
• Ensure projects are produced to the highest creative standard and delivered on time
• Delegate tasks to junior staff members or tech assistants and track progress
• Represent the company at industry events to socialise with industry peers and potential new clients from time to time

Essential:

• 5 - 8 years experience across a range of post software and workflows
• Extensive experience of working on a variety of projects, including commercials
• Extensive QC & Mastering expertise including the knowledge of technical areas, 4:3 / 14:9 / 16:9 type safety, PAL, NTSC & HD deliveries
• Expert understanding of Clearcast rules for legal type and size, flashing??
• Ability to organise media for archiving
• Demonstrable ability in Compositing 2D elements, CGI elements and the creation and integration of motion graphics
• Good working knowledge of Adobe software eg. Photoshop and Illustrator
• Ability to comprehensively and clearly brief outsourcing facilities where required
• Ability to demonstrate and communicate creative thinking

Desirable:

• Working knowledge of Nuke &/or After Effects
• Experience in a post-production company environment
