The Role:

Our client is seeking a Production Technical Supervisor, with a proactive, energetic, friendly personality, who has in excess of 8 years' experience in an MCR role.

As this is a 'technical heavy' support position, it is key that you are solid in each area of this all-encompassing Production Support role and comfortable with all aspects of the job. You will have the ability to work efficiently and quickly and will thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Ideally you will have previous production agency experience and be available for immediate start.

Responsibilities:

Data Management:

  • Archive projects to Azure
  • Un-Archive projects from Azure
  • Unarchive of legacy LTO archive and push to Azure
  • Archive/Management of old shoot drives
  • Manage data limits on the Broadcast, Print and Audio SAN, running regular reports
  • Manage Software licences
  • Manage naming conventions
  • Align all above with each client office
  • Ensure all rushes and projects are returned from 3rd party suppliers/post houses etc

Operator Support:

  • First line troubleshooting and support of broadcast machine issues
  • Identify issues and report them to engineering and management via tickets and emails
  • Calibration of monitors
  • Colour Grading support
  • Setup of New ops in office and support on remote edit and VFX setups


Project Support:

  • Advise on cameras, lenses, DIT specs, VFX supervision for shoots
  • Advise producers and editors on workflows
  • Utilise knowledge and experience to provide support and solutions on a project-by-project basis
  • Produce dailies from all shoots
  • Ensure all video data complies with edit systems
  • Manage and organise all moving image and audio media, including original camera files, completed edits, raw audio recordings
  • Action Visual Effects pulls to produce data suitable for VFX clean-up and grading

General Support:

  • Keep abreast of Broadcast Industry technology and trends, including suitable edit systems and solutions
  • QC of broadcast clocks, reporting issues to producers
  • Upload of successful Clocks to AssetsPlus
  • Enforce company workflows and policy where possible and applicable
  • Manage time and liaise with bookings
  • Updating media encoder presets to current delivery specifications to aid editors with exports
  • Liaise with Global tech team for implementation of wider approved systems
  • Advice and workflow management for Moving Image, Stills, Digital and Audio teams
  • Line management duties of MCR ops, working alongside Head of Post, including training, rota management and daily assessment of workload

Qualifications:

  • 8 - 10 years MCR experience
  • 10 years industry experience - preferably Advertising
  • A proactive people person
  • Technically savvy with experience across multiple technology platforms
  • Expert at prioritising and time management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Happy to work on a weekly shift rota

Desirable:

  • Ability and desire to R&D new tech and new workflows
  • Ability and desire to support research of new platforms and associated training and induction
  • Ability to assume management of Inter-office collaboration, with support for server access and asset sharing
