Permanent (Full-Time) – High End Advertising – London - Salary Commensurate with Experience -

Minimum: 3+ years experience with Autodesk Flame and a range of Post Software with a focus on high end VFX.

The Role:

Our client is seeking a Flame Artist who has great creative vision, strong communication and team skills, plus a sound technical understanding of VFX. The ability to work with Clients, Directors and Agency Creatives / Producers on high-end commercial projects, from initial meetings through to final delivery is imperative. You will also have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and be committed to maintaining our client base, at the same time as nurturing your own client network. Confidently engaging with clients in pre-production meetings, you will offer advice & solutions on how to achieve best results. Self-motivated and enthusiastic, you will have a friendly and open manner, whilst maintaining a professional and presentable image, great security awareness being key at all times.

The role will involve compositing and 2D project management, compositing of VFX/CGI elements and the creation and integration of motion GFX. With a good working knowledge of photography, filmmaking techniques and technologies, the ideal candidate will have the ability and desire to mentor and train junior artists in their teams. You will be required to attend shoots in the UK and abroad, including supervision of VFX scenes and data capture.

The ideal candidate will be able to break-down and quote on complex VFX projects and be confident in suggesting creative ways to work within their client’s budget. The ability to react to changes efficiently and meet delivery deadlines is also essential, as is the ability to provide articulate and helpful feedback to in-house artists. Liaising with all levels of management and staff, you will be required to share ideas with teammates and iterate rapidly, based on client notes.

You will take responsibility for mentoring and training junior artists in your teams, as well as for your own learning and development. You must be able to demonstrate an ongoing record of research and development, both personally and within teams. A proactive communicator, you will pay great attention to detail and even whilst working under pressure you will prioritise and manage conflicting demands, paying constant attention to discretion and confidentiality.

The successful candidate will have considerable experience of on-set supervision, such as the placement of tracking markers, chroma screens and 360 environment capture. Further, you will have demonstrated experience implementing fast, effective solutions to shot production challenges as well as the ability to work in a high pressure and evolving environment, whilst still delivering top quality results.

  • Full understanding of the various workflows in Flame - including batch and batchfx
  • Confident with Linux shell navigation and commands
  • Expert knowledge of current broadcast standards
  • Expert knowledge of TVC regulations
  • Expert knowledge of Clearcast legal requirements
  • Fully conversant with conform/connected-conform workflows and shot sequence publishing/distribution
  • Ability to break-down and quote on complex VFX projects
  • Strong communication and team working skills
  • Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to be engaged with multiple projects at the same time
  • Excellent organisational skills
