The Role:

The Film Editor will play an essential role in the post-production of our Client's film work. This will involve bringing stories to life, by editing engaging and dynamic content, on behalf of their own clients. Content will be broadcast on various platforms, such as socials, websites, events and be used for internal and B2B films.

Candidates should possess a skilled, innovative and creative approach to their work. They will have the ability not only to meet but to exceed client expectations, whilst having constant regard for budgets and time constraints. Experience in asset management and overseeing media transfer to and from external post-production suppliers, such as audio studios, grading suites and graphics companies is also required for this role.

Having previously produced video in a dynamic communications, media agency or corporate film environment, the post holder will also be responsible for delivery of finished films in their final formats and for ensuring that all work meets technical best practice procedures. You will have the ability to develop strong interpersonal team and client relationships - a crucial attribute throughout the post-production process. 

Candidates must possess very strong video editing skills which always consider narrative, pacing and shot selection. In addition, ideally, you will  have demonstrable After Effects skills and experience.

The successful Candidate will be happy and able to keep up to date with developments in post-production technology, systems and software, in line with industry best practice, making themselves aware of the latest editing trends. Being highly organised and self-motivated, they will contribute positively to team spirit and the collaborative working environment, whilst demonstrating initiative and the ability to work unsupervised. Happy to take direction and to adapt positively to feedback, the post holder will also show dedication and commitment whilst working to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities: (including but not limited to):

  • Edit film projects, either with other editors, independently or in collaboration with producers, consultants and designers
  • Contribute to the creative development of concepts and approaches for new projects 
  • Broaden the range of styles and formats on offer
  • Produce showreels and work on other internal projects as required.
  • Edit animated films, working in collaboration with animators
  • Research and source music / stock footage / images / templates / plugins as required
  • Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Excellent, demonstrable editing experience
  • Experience of 2D motion graphics creation
  • Experience of colour grading
  • Good knowledge of encoding and codecs, including delivery of OMFs, XMLs etc.
  • Good sound design and mixing skills
  • Acute and accurate attention to detail

Essential Software Skills:

  • Excellent level of expertise with Premiere Pro 
  • High level of proficiency in Adobe After Effects
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop
  • Good knowledge of Illustrator
  • Good knowledge of Audition 
  • Good knowledge of Media Encoder
