The Role:

We are seeking a talented and passionate 2D Animator, working across both technical and non-technical animations, to contribute to our Client's premium science, maths and engineering video production.

Applicants will require a strong portfolio which showcases their 2D animation skills and demonstrates their ability to visually convey complex concepts. With proven experience in animating illustrations to tell visual stories and provide narrative context, they will be highly proficient in Adobe After Effects, Cavalry and Manim with the agility and flexibility to deliver animated storytelling across a range of creative visual styles.

All Candidates must have excellent storyboarding skills to enable effective planning and visualisation animation of sequences. They must also possess a passion for scientific and technical subjects, together with a demonstrable ability to quickly grasp and depict such concepts accurately, as well as having a desire to create inspirational and educational content.

The ideal Candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset who will want to be part of this success story. With the ability to seek out new opportunities, they will be required to take ownership of important initiatives and be willing and able to learn at a fast pace. Happy to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in animation techniques, you will strive to continuously improve the quality of our Client's content.

As a key member of our Client's team, the successful Candidate will work closely with their producers, scriptwriters and video editors to bring high-end scientific, mathematical and engineering concepts to life through captivating animations. Your animations will play a crucial role in enhancing viewers' understanding of and engagement with complex scientific subjects.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with scriptwriters and content creators to conceptualise and visualise create animations that effectively communicate scientific and technical concepts
• Create high-quality 2D animations that align with the visual style and tone of their YouTube channel
• Based on briefs and collaboration with other team members, transform abstract ideas and theories into engaging and informative visual content
• Ensure accurate representation of scientific and technical information in animation, based on briefs received from the team
• Work closely with the video editing team to seamlessly integrate animations into video content
• Provide creative input and suggestions to enhance the visual storytelling process

Qualifications:

• Excellent knowledge of Adobe After Effects
• Excellent knowledge of Cavalry
• Excellent knowledge of Manim
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to deliver high-quality work within tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment

Desirable:

• Additional experience in 3D animation
• Working knowledge of Blender
• Working knowledge of Maya
• Working knowledge of Cinema 4D
