An opportunity to join an award-winning creative agency as an Edit Assistant.

Working closely with the MCR Supervisor, other members of CTA and the Production team to help maintain the smooth running of CTA and delivery of assets to schedules.

Soho Editors are acting as an agency on behalf of the client.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily upkeep of AVID, Premiere, Nexus and storage system.
  • Maintain high-level of communication between machine room team, Production and other internal teams, across our sites in London and Amsterdam.
  • QC and delivery of files to broadcasters, delivery partners, client approval files, TV clearance files and online, audio prep.
  • Ensure all freelancers, new starters and current editorial staff work according to the agreed technical setup for projects, and proactively address if not.
  • Material ingest, sequence prepping, rendering, conforms, exports, mix-downs, source lists, AAF (EDL OMFI), Conforms.
  • Provide guidance and local training to freelancers on our bespoke workflows.
  • Maintain and improve current knowledge of relevant technology and practices to provide support to the wider business.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of new equipment.
  • Support the development, review and maintenance of appropriate documentation and guidelines on local knowledge for Creatives and freelance staff.
  • Ensure output is technically correct, being confident in using key equipment to assist the online process.
  • Collaborate with the wider team to ensure the smooth production of required material, making sure this meets the required technical standards within the agreed time constraints.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experienced with Avid Media Composer and a familiarity with the basic video effects and audio plug-ins.
  • Ability to operate Avid Symphony and manage finishing process.
  • Working knowledge of cloud-based editing systems a bonus.
  • Strong working knowledge of frame rates, time-code, aspect ratios, resolutions, video scanning and colour spaces.
  • Strong working knowledge with audio bit depth, sample rate, codecs, common track layouts and audio formats, digital video codecs, bit rates, conversion tools and colour spaces.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and create strong working relationships.
  • Strong organisation skills along with strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to manage several projects simultaneously and keep a level head under pressure.
