Permanent (Full-Time) – Broadcast & Advertising – London - Salary Commensurate with Experience - 2+ years minimum industry experience required & 1+ years as a Junior Editor or Edit Assist.

The Role:

Our client is seeking an Edit Assistant/Junior Editor. The ideal candidate will have experience using the Adobe suite and be skilled in Premiere Pro. They will have a passion for storytelling and above all, will be driven by an ambition to create inspiring content. The candidate should enjoy immersing themselves in the world of film, music and art. As a result they will have the ability to call on exciting styles that inspire them, in order to bring fresh ideas to each edit and continually elevate our client's productions.

The ideal candidate will consider themselves an intrinsically creative person and have the technical knowledge to back it up. They will also possess a broad range of passions and interests with the desire to keep abreast of cultural conversations relevant to our client's brand & entertainment projects.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player with strong communication skills, both in person & remotely. They will also have a positive attitude to problem solving and a willingness to work unsociable hours occasionally, when the project requires. The utmost discretion, transparency and accountability with regards to confidential information will be required at all times.

Working hours are considered to be usual office hours, but with occasional unsociable hours. Flexible working arrangements might be possible by negotiation.

Responsibilities (Edit Assistant):

  • Ingesting of rushes and client assets to appropriate locations
  • Creating proxies when needed
  • Handling transfer of footage from site to site according to pre-agreed workflow
  • Preparing project files for editors
  • Conforming edits, preparing files for grade and audio mix
  • Creating delivery files to spec
  • Archiving projects upon completion
  • Ensure workflow is adhered to by staff and freelancers
  • Maintain review, transfer and delivery platforms (eg. Frame.io/MASV/WeTransfer)
  • Assign freelance staff to remote projects

Responsibilities (Junior Editor):

  • Work alongside the post team to create contemporary, exciting and engaging edits
  • Maintain the highest quality of output, adhering to project management workflows and show an understanding of technical specifications for delivery
  • Work under the guidance of editors, collaborating with the Head of Post, Senior Post Producer and Creative Director to effectively deliver the project’s creative vision
  • Communicate clearly with the Senior Post Producer to ensure the project stays on schedule
  • Ensure branding consistency is maintained for each client

Skills:

  • Proven capability as an edit assistant/junior editor. This may be demonstrated with personal projects, freelance work or work undertaken at a junior position within another company
  • Special consideration will be given to those who have experience as an edit assistant
  • A good understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Basic knowledge of After Effects
  • A keen eye for aesthetically pleasing layout, working closely with the motion design team to implement graphics in the edits
  • Excellent knowledge of macOS
  • A solid understanding of end to end post production workflow, formats and codecs and an excellent technical knowledge
  • Meticulous project management and attention to detail
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and adapt workflow to suit different situations

Desirable:

  • Basic knowledge of Photoshop (Mac based)
