Somayeh J.
Somayeh J. Editor (offline), Camera Operator, Director.
Somayeh likes to employ her passion for all aspects of filmmaking within her editing work; her experience of working with directors and being a director herself gives her the edge when it comes to editing; consequently, she works well with creative directors and clients because she can understand and relay their vision in her editing work. The challenge of bringing it all together, adding new meaning through the edit and really experimenting with the form are all the things that make editing an exciting art form for her.
Clients say Somayeh has total zen and is cool under pressure. She loves to travel and as a fan of Iranian films alongside arthouse cinema, photography and scriptwriting she hopes to make a film in her motherland Iran someday.

Drowned City is a documentary film about the people who devote themselves to pirate radio in London. The film takes a journey with today's youth who spend their days and nights transmitting from tower blocks and warehouses; with nostalgic, experienced ex-pirates who have lost their battles with Ofcom and paid the price; and with mainstream stars who owe their fame and fortune today to their early start in pirate radio. - Director, Faith Millan, production company Punderson Gardens. - Assistant editor
