The Foundry is pleased to announced that Nuke 6.0 has been released.
And Soho Editors Training are pleased to announce the release of their new Nuke 6 (X) Introduction course.
Nuke 6.0 incorporates a a completely new shape rotoscope and paint toolset based on a rewritten core curve library and new RotoPaint node. This release introduces a flexible, non-destructive, layer based paint hierarchy integrated with Nuke’s animation and tracking capabilities and supporting per-object attributes such as blending modes and motion blur. As an additional benefit, The Foundry’s highly acclaimed Keylight keyer is now a standard feature included with Nuke 6.0.

Framstore take NUKE 6.
The Foundry is pleased to announce that Framestore has invested in a Nuke site license. Framestore have been using Nuke on all their recent projects including Avatar, the widely acclaimed James Cameron movie being premiered tonight (10 Dec 2009). Upcoming projects also tackled in Nuke include Where the Wild Things Are (pictured above), Sherlock Holmes, Clash of the Titans, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, The Prince of Persia, Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang.
Image Engine Nukes District 9
Armed with The Foundry’s Nuke compositing software, Image Engine was the lead VFX vendor on District 9 - the debut feature from director Neill Blomkamp. The Vancouver based VFX studio completed 311 shots on the film, which grossed $130m worldwide in its first five weeks. The quality of the work was such that Blomkamp declared, “Image Engine has done absolutely top tier, brilliant work that far exceeded my expectations.
